in between was born from a shared love of fashion by Shelby and Megan — two girls who moved to Japan and were shaped by their experiences living between cultures.
Shelby left California for Tokyo back in 2022 and found herself reconnecting with her Japanese heritage through all aspects of life: language, food, lifestyleーeven fashion. Megan, a Chinese Canadian living between North America and Asia, became inspired by the contrast between Western aesthetics and the trends she encountered while living in Seoul and Tokyo.
Over time, their styles evolved into something that didn’t fully belong to a single aesthetic or category. Friends would often ask where they shopped, but neither felt represented by existing brands. in between was born from that space — a place where different influences, trends, and perspectives can coexist naturally.
At its core, in between is about self-expression, experimentation, and having fun with fashion. Bright colors, soft textures, playful styling, and individuality are at the center of everything we do. More than anything, we hope to create a space for people who also find themselves somewhere in between.
